Quiet Time When You Wake Up On The Wrong Side of The Bed and Thriving ThursdaysPosted by KM Logan on Sep 4, 2013 in Blog Posts, Thriving Thursdays | 1 comment
Angrier than hornets does not begin to describe my two girls when they woke up this morning. Maybe they didn’t sleep well, maybe they were just looking for a fight, whatever the reason both of my delightful daughters’ yelling upstairs could be heard by me all the way in our basement.
Not the best way for their mornings to start out, not the best way for my morning to start out. Yet there it was. They woke up on the wrong sides of their respective beds and my stress level was sky high even before I finished my first cup of coffee.
I’m still looking for that magic child training method that makes siblings suddenly get a long, but in the mean time I try to take these squabbles in stride. It didn’t however doesn’t help the day start out right.
Here’s the thing about our days though. What happens before 8:00 AM doesn’t need to determine how the rest of the time we spend awake develops. We don’t need to let a dark rain cloud hang over our head all day. We can choose joy, and choose not to let a less than ideal morning ruin things for us.
Maybe you rush out the door before you think to stop and acknowledge God. Maybe you skip your devotion and prayer time and start things off with a sour, sinful attitude.
Either way, you’re still only a prayer away from God’s forgiveness and help. Our days are never lost if we simply turn to Him.
